Glam Squad Make-over

Make Up Artist Lucienne Zamit applies lipstick to Judith Baulista, while Hair Stylist Philip Carreon works on her hair as part of her makeover by actress Cynthia Nixon's 'Glam Squad Make Over' on Tuesday October 11, 2005 at Sojourn - a battered women's center in Santa Monica. This is part of Marshalls Shop 'Til it Stops campaign to raise awareness and funding for domestic violence prevention.

Fresh Art at Clover Park

ACT 2 - Scene 2 "Soil" : Two year old, Leo Bloom, puts a lady bug back onto the 'Red Carpet' as the Artist Helen Lessick helps on Tuesday October 11.This exhibit is part of Santa Monica's City Fresh Art show that is being staged at Clover Park. Act 3 will be performend on Thursday and Friday.

Inflatable Ocean: The Missing Tear of Santa Monica by Steve Appleton, Leon Martell and Valerie Tymoczko with: Bill Barret and Josh Koslow.
Two year old Leo Bloom plays on this inflatable Ocean that is part of the Fresh Art Exhibit that is being held throughout the week at Clover Park.

Chopin/Mendelssohn Mini-fest

Santa Monica College music Proffesor Dr. David Goodman plays Nocturne, Opus 62 Number 1 as part of SMC's Frederic Chopin Felix Mendelssohn Minifest 2005, that was held on Tuesday October 11 2005.The MiniFest is a three part series, next performances are on Thursday and Saturday.

Help wanted

Santa Monica College held its annual job fair on Tuesday in the library walkway. Over 20 job recruiters showed up.

Craig Angel, One of the managers of Bubba Gump Ship Co. restaurant, tries to recruit some SMC students for employment during its Job Fair that was held on Tuesday 11.2005.

Placing the final beam

Construction worker "Tops Off" the new 541 seat Visual and Performing Art Center of Santa Monica College's Madison Project on Monday October 10, 2005. This is the last steal beam placed into the structure and begins the flushing out period of construction of the varios separate spaces in the building.The center is scheduled to open in 2007.

Miss Piggy honored
First Lady of California, Maria Shriver and Anne Sweeney, Co- chairman of Disney media networks and president of Disney-ABC Television Group, honored internationally renowned actress, model, author and diva, Miss Piggy for being recognized as a role model for her courage and perseverance in everything she does on and off the stage at the 2005 Pier Del Sol Special Olympic Benefit that was held on the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday October 9, 2005.

Over 35 of Los Angeles top restaurants and their chefs presented an array of appetizing specialties. Entertainment included a petting zoo, photo booth, game booths and Pacific Park rides. Celebrities interacted with guests in the game booths and rides. Miss Piggy was honored live on stage.

The Art of Living Foundations held its First Annual 5K Run for Youth that started in Palisades Park in Santa Monica on Sunday October 9, 2005. The Art of Living Foundations is committed to empowering young people to live life to their highest potential by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to release stress while keeping an unwavering smile, no matter what the circumstance.
Bomb scare in Venice

Bomb Scare in Venice. Beach goers are evacuated from the Venice Beach boardwalk (for about two hours at around 3:30 PM) due to a bomb scare on Saturday October 8, 2005. Bomb squad was called out but no bomb was found. Boardwalk reopened at around 5:30 PM.
