Save the Cottage
Bob Sevy has a neighbor sign a petition while Scott Spell, and Pat Mullen hold up signs to save this 1898 historic cottage located at 2219 Ocean Avenue on Saturday June 10, 2006. The fate of this cottage will be determined at the Landmarks Commission meeting this Monday, June 12, 2006, at 7pm in Council Chambers at City Hall. A petition asking the Landmarks Commission to "nominate" the cottage for landmark status has been created. On Monday the commission will decide weather to grant the demolish permit or to nominate the cottage for landmark status. This is the last cottage that remains standing along Ocean Avenue south of the Santa Monica Pier.

Eight Olympic High School students graduated from the K9 Connection's Class No. 8 on Friday June 9, 2006. The K9 Connection is a project bringing together dogs and at risk teens. The class encourages youths to apply the lessons learned in training homeless sheltered dogs to their lives, developing an awareness of impulsive behavior.

Sarasvati, 23 (her spiritual name) who hails from Germany, paints the name Radha Govinda's onto the Temple on Wednesday June 7, 2006 in Venice. The Radha Govinda's are preparing for the upcoming Los Angeles Vaisnava Festival on June 8th through the 11th. The Radha Govinda's offers a vegetarian all-you-can-eat buffet for $6.00 from 12pm to 3pm Monday through Friday.
