Nestor Torres, a Latin Grammy Winning Jazz Flautist, performed at Santa Monica College on Thursday, December 8, 2005. Torres performed from his latest work in progress, "Prayers & Meditations for Peace." Torres was joined by Professor Ric Alviso of the SMC Music Department for an open forum dialog to discuss how music and education can effectively work towards a peacefully world. The event was sponsored by SMC Value Creation Society Club and the Associated Students.
