Roxie, a 15 month old mixed puppy stands by her trainer, Alix Charlery, as they receive their graduation diploma from K-9 Connections, a 3 week intense  basic obedience program last week at Lincoln Middle School. Roxie has not yet found a home due to her special need of having to  be in a single dog home.  Roxie can take walks with other dogs but cant not live with them because she was attacked by her house mate dog at her last foster home. K9 Connections is having a hard time finding an adoptive home for Roxie and the poor dog is back at the shelter. "She's had a hard enough road as it is, she was originally found tied by her neck with packing straps in an alley in Hollywood," Says Glen Zipper, the project operations manager from K9 Connections," She's remarkably sweet and hilarious.  I often sit at Peet's Coffee on Montana Ave. with Roxie in my lap and a line forms to be kissed by her.  She's become sort of a Santa Monica quasi-celebrity.  It's downright bizarre that she hasn't been adopted.   I really owe it to her and her k9 connection student trainer to pull out all the stops to find a placement for her,'' Zipper said in an email.- If you or someone you know can adopt this sweet Roxie or have any possible leads, please cal Glen Zipper at K9 Connection at 310-264-5424 or K9connection.org (the K9 Connection is a project bringing together dogs and at risk teens. The class encourages youths to apply the lessons learned in training homeless sheltered dogs to their lives, developing an awareness of impulsive behavior.
