Sherrif Lee Bacca, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger speak during a news conference  at the Double Tree Guest Suites Hotel on Thursday August 17, 2006. They asked for the public support of proposition 83, also known as "Jessica's Law." Mark Lunsford, father of 9-year-old murder victim, Jesica Lunsforn, also spoke at the press conference.

Building pride

On Monday, August 14, 2006, a construction worker lays  rebar to form the roof of the new Performing Arts Center & Music Academy of Santa Monica College. The new complex is being built at the Madison Campus, on Santa Monica Boulevard and 11th Street. It will include a 541-seat theater, a rehearsal hall, an art gallery, and classrooms and practice rooms for the Academy of Music.

LUNCH BREAK: On Monday August 14, 2006 - at 1pm, construction workers take a lunch break after working on the new Performing Arts Center & Music Academy of Santa Monica College.
