Multi-media artist Justin "Projekt" Rowley, who hails  from San Diego, levels his paintings inside of  his booth in preparation for the Santa Monica Art Fair. The art fair will be held at the Santa Monica Civic center on September, 15, 16 and 17.

Flow test

Santa Monica Fire Fighter Johnny Maccini, 28, performs an annual 'flow test' on a fire hydrant located at Bay and 6th Street on Wednesday. The fire hydrant passed proving that it can pump out 65 pounds of pressure. The tests are necessary to ensure proper hydrant operations at the time of emergencies. The SMFD will be testing all the fire hydrants in Santa Monica throughout September and October.

Clean sweep

Jose Orellana, 20, and Steve Breslau, 46, from the Santa Monica Solid Waste Management Department, sweep up the Bay Street Boardwalk on Wednesday, September 13, 2006. Breslau was hired through Chrysalis over three months ago. Chrysalis is dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged and homeless individuals become self-sufficient through employment opportunities.
