Bustamante Antiques Show
(1) Norman Karlson, an antique dealer who is writing a book on the Eiffel Tower, displays a model in exact scale (1/200th) of the 'Tour Eiffel' on Saturday, January 7, 2007 during the Bustamante Antiques Show & Sale. According to Karlson, the tower was the tallest building in the world until the Chrysler Building was built. (2) Lawrence Gong, an antique dealer, displays his carved Buddha's on Saturday during the show. The Bustamante Antiques Show & Sale is staged twice a year in the Santa Monica Civic Center.
Art and Antique Fair

A Moray eel swims around its tank with his mouth open wide at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium on Wednesday, Jan 3, 2007. Moray eel's frequent tropical and subtropical coral reefs to depths of 200 m, where they spend most of their time concealed inside crevices and alcoves.

It was a jolly-good year
Jose Medrano, (left) and Ruben Gonzales (right) from Solid Waste Management put Christmas trees into their dump truck on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Reed Park. There were about 250- to 300 trees piled up at the park waiting to be recycled. Their dump truck can carry about 80 trees. They will have to make 3 to 4 trips to dispose of all the trees.
