The new Civic Center's parking structure on Fourth Street lights up in multi-color neon on Wednesday. The colored vertical strips serves as a key design element of the first green  parking garage in the USA. The strips are in total 7,000 square feet of custom-painted, prismasolar texture channel glass planks.

People check out the 'Smart Car' during the 'Earth Day on the Promenade' festival on Saturday, April 14, 2007. The Smart Car is manufactured by the Mercedes Group and is air-cooled, turbocharged and has a  three-cylinder, 698cc (0.7 L) rear-mounted engine. It and can reach speeds of 80 miles-per-hour  and gets 40 mpg with an average combined city-highway driving.
