ALL ABOUT THE AGAVE: Also known as a century plant, the indigenous flowering plants along Bay Street frame a boat (top) heading north along the Santa Monica Bay this week. The same shot (above) is captured a subsequent day under a brilliant sunset, rendered more dramatic by the smoke emanating from wildfires burning to the south.

What a great photo! I hope you don't mind if I recreate this in an oil painting! Your web site has such nice photographs, and being a second generation Santa Monican its relly nice to see up to date news from the area and great coverage on all types of subjects, keep up the good work I may even cancelle my newspaper!
