Santa Monica City Council Member Kevin McKeown, arrives riding his classic ten speed bicycle to the grand opening of the sustainable and solar powered Civic Center Parking Structure on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. McKeown purchased his bike new from Helen's Cycle thirty years ago in 1977. His bike is licensed by the city of Santa Monica. "Im an Irish Politician with a hard head, I don't need a helmet," he said at the event when asked were his helmet was.

The cast from the Fox drama 'House' received a Red Cross Spirit Award during the  American Red Cross of Santa Monica's "Red Tie Affair" on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel.  Actor Hugh Laurie (holding the award) receives the award on behalf of the House cast. Laurie shows of his red socks on the red carpet during the  event.

The American Red Cross of Santa Monica's Chairman of the Board, Ann Greenspun, honors celebrity TV chef, Nick Stallino with a giant engraved wine glass during the Red Tie Affair on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel. World famous celebrity chef, author and TV show host, Nick Stellino created a three-course gourmet dinner.  Stellino, considered to be one of the world's top chefs, served a pasta with pine nuts, raisons and tomato entrée, fish in red wine sauce main course and a chocolate zabaglione with marinated strawberry desert. Stellino hosts a number of highly successful cooking series on the Public Broadcasting System and is the author of seven best selling cookbooks on Italian and Mediterranean cooking.
