Haron Lagat, 24, who hails from Kenya and now lives in Santa Fe, leads the pack during  the second annual Saint John's Santa Monica 5000 on Sunday, October 21, 2007. He came in first place with a time of 14:04 and won the $1500 plus an additional $300 bonus for finishing under 14:20. Lagat also places first in last years race and beat his time  by 8 seconds in this race.
