Ricardo A. Crocker Memorial Highway Sign

Major Ricardo A. Crocker, 39, of Mission Viejo, Calif., died from a rocket propelled grenade explosion while conducting combat operations in Hadithah, Iraq on May 26, 2005. Major Ricardo was a Santa Monica Police Officer from 1995-2005 and in the United State Marine Corps from 1989-2005.
The Broad Stage


The idea for the performing arts center was first raised nearly a decade ago at a dinner party at the home of Piedad Robertson, then-president of Santa Monica College, attended by the Broads, Oscar-winning actor Dustin Hoffman, who now chairs The Broad Stage's artistic advisory board, and former opera singer Franzen. The Broads became involved in the project last year after seeing the innovative complex under construction along Santa Monica Boulevard.

The Lobster has recently added 54 solar panels curved gracefully over its south-facing roof. The Lobster worked with Solar Santa Monica, the City's sponsored program aimed at encouraging both solar photovoltaics and solar thermal (hot water), to get the new system up and running.
