Off to Zuma
More than 280 applicants wait in line to register for the lifeguard tryouts on Saturday and win a spot in the 2008 Los Angeles County Lifeguard Training Academy. The Open Ocean 1,000-meter swim test was scheduled to be staged at the Santa Monica Pier but was moved to Zuma beach because of the storm drain water run-off caused by yesterdays rain.

Jackman and Captain Wendell Shirley, Rosemary Chicken during the Santa Monica Police Activities League's 5th Annual ChezPAL at Back on Broadway on Thursday. The fundraising event was prepared and served by the youth from PAL under the supervision of well-known restaurateur Fred Deni. 2) PAL youths are put up for auction for various services such as baby sitting, pet sitting and car washing during the fundraising event.
